Discardia
Discardia is a holiday I founded that is celebrated by carving away all that nonsense which isn't making us happy, and uncovering what does. It's about letting go of what doesn't add value to our lives - whether physical object, habit, or emotional baggage - and replacing it with what makes our worlds more true to our essential selves. Discardia.com brings together my online Discardian writings and comments from members of the growing Discardian community. You can follow Discardia on Twitter or become a fan of Discardia on Facebook. I've just published my first book, Discardia: More Life, Less Stuff.
Agile Self Development
One of my key beliefs, which led to the creation of agile self development in the summer of 2010, is that personal growth happens most effectively as a series of small, incremental changes. When there is a huge, daunting goal often our little monkey brains freak out and nothing gets done. The mountain just seems too high to climb. As a personal coach, I've learned I can effectively help people make these changes by using some of the same techniques used in agile software development. These techniques help teams to make a little bit of software at a time and then combine those bits, continuing building it into something more full-featured, making adjustments and changes along the way. Agile is a natural set of tools to adapt to personal growth. Chapter 8 of my book, Discardia: More Life, Less Stuff is all about applying agile self development to your personal life.
Coaching
Services I offer include planning, workflow, and productivity assistance to small businesses, individual professionals, and anyone interested in improving their life/work balance. I'm different from the usual sort of consultant in that I am offering my skills in small chunks of focused work together, rather than coming in with "my system" and trying to waffle-iron it onto you. I believe that focus is available to anyone. It shouldn't require thousands of dollars or expensive custom planners. All you need is to learn the techniques that work for you and, now and then, an outside perspective to help you get back on track.
MetaGrrrl
MetaGrrrl.com is my personal site, where I have been blogging since 1998. It is a portrait of my life and what is on my mind at various times in it. I am gradually extending it backwards in time to fill in my pre-Web history.
Bibulo.us
