Cheese of the day 2005

Today's tasty bite is Mimolette, a French, 6 month old, bright orange cheese. Very nice with crisp green apple and sourdough bread. The Rainbow Grocery staff were apparently feeling rather romantic when they wrote the info card for this one since it was all about chedder and gouda's eyes meeting across a crowded café one night, but they're certainly right that it evokes both.

A cheesy web search led me from your comments on Mimolette to charity giving! I bought said cheese in Tesco because it was reduced & being ever curious I decided to research. Mmmm, like minded person eh? I too am a web geek (although only an amatuer)& I'm also a foodie. Being somewhat older I might just call myself MetaGrrrn! Your comments about Kiva & microfinance led me to sponsoring a child. Serendipity or what?

Earlier, pretty city lights this time of year, with one new annoyance: http://flickr.com/photos/dinah/82834156/

Blog (noun) A weblog or similar brief journal usually containing links and commentary thereon. Term coined by Peter Merholz.
Visit Typepad or Blogger to start your own. (I began with hand coding, then switched to Blogger when it first became available, then to Movable Type when I wanted more control over my weblog and to have it hosted at a place of my choosing (Hurricane Electric). Now I use Typepad, built by the same folks who made Movable Type and I love it).
